Miriam Jacobs Baseball Collection

This non-circulating collection was bequeathed to the library by Daytonian Miriam Jacobs, who wanted it kept next to that of her brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Irene Jacobs. The collection witnesses to Miss Miriam's lifelong love of baseball. It consists of books and serials, an extensive collection of baseball cards, many autographed photographs of baseball players, baseballs autographed by famous players, a vast collection of autographs of baseball players, and other baseball memorabilia. Miss Jacobs regarded the Si Burick Baseball Collection as a worthwhile complement to her own. The annuals in the collection are being kept up-to-date and some new books have been added in order to keep the collection current.

The Miriam Jacobs Baseball Collection may be consulted by appointment. Please contact by email Nicoletta Hary, Ph.D., Curator of Rare Books and Special Collections, or at 937-229-4262 (tel.) or 937-229-4590 (fax).
