6A(1) Correspondence -- Record group for samples of student correspondence. Contains: 1) letter of May 1881 on St. Mary's Institute stationery from two students (Frank Herr and Robert Brachvolel) to former student, John Feick; 2) letter of January 4, 1881 to John Feick (at St. Mary's Institute) from George Daniel, Jr. (refers to Fr. Meyers and Bro. Rush); 3) letter of January 14, 1881 to John Feick (at St. Mary's Institute) from George Daniel, Jr. 4) letter of February 22, 1881 to Lizzie [Zipfel] from John A. Feick (at St. Mary's Institute). 5) Letter of Oct. 19, 1934 to Joseph Quatman from Dad, Letter of March 17, 1941 to Joe [Quatman] from Dad. 6) Post card to Donald Rist (Alumni) from Frankie Hong (enlisted, WWII), Jan. 6, 1944.

General sub-group for all theses and dissertations written by students at the University. Small collection of early unbound papers in boxes.

6C. Student Rosters

@6C Roster of Students of the University of Dayton 1850-1950--various rosters, 1851-1917. Collection includes handwritten lists of students (boarders and day students), student accounts, and lists of students leaving for vacations.

@6C Register of Pupils of St. Mary's Institute 1875-1909

6C(1) Graduate Rosters-- Various compilations of graduates (St. Mary's Institute, St. Mary's College, UD). Includes : Two working drafts of an alphabetical-chronological roster of graduates (1885-1928; 1885-1948), a typed chronological list (1885-1927), and a typed (carbon copy) alphabetical list of graduates, 1885-1950. This last-mentioned document was probably a project accomplished in connection with the Marianist Triple Centennial, 1949-50.

6GA Publications -- Various publications prepared or sponsored by Student Government. Collection includes: Constitutions, Student Directories, brochures and booklets (on Student Government, student rights, information for new students, educational reform at UD), and other miscellaneous documents, new releases, calendars, announcements.

(1) 1963-74-- Records of the Student Council, 1963-67; Student Government, 1967-75; Student Association, 1976-78. Includes: budgets, accounting records, bills, minutes, agendas, reports, constitutions. Also, some correspondence. Subjects include: fraternity recognition, R.O.T.C. on campus, National Student Association, the Grant case, the constitutional revision, Homecoming, Experimental College and Alternative Center for Education at Dayton. Received from Student Association in two batches in 1979-80. One binder received in 1982.

(2) 1956-57, 1959, 1962-63-- Miscellaneous records of the Student Council: Minutes, 1956-57; Minutes of May 5, 1959; Committee Reports, 1962-63. These materials were received by Archives in 1982.

Obtained from John Judge, student activist and draft counselor, through the Peace Studies Institute, and various other sources. Also: issues of short-lived "The Aroundabout", 1984-85 alternative newspapers.(see box list)

(1) American Society of Mechanical Engineers-- A scrapbook describing the activities of the UD chapter of the ASME from 1936-47. Includes membership lists, minutes of meetings, newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence. Contains information on Susan Martin, UD's first coed engineering student, the UD Math club, UD alumni in World War II, charitable activities of ASME; A Scrapbook including minutes, clippings, correspondence from September 1947 to January 1952. Contains a dedication program for M.E. laboratory (Oct. 17, 1949) signed by C.F. Kettering, some materials pertaining to Marianist Triple Centennial, 1949-50.

(2) Ohio Society of Professional Engineers-- One scrapbook describing the activities of the UD chapter of the OSPE from 1948 to 1954 Includes membership lists, minutes of meetings, photographs, newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence.

(3) Delta Sigma Pi--Records of the UD chapter of the international business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and its local predecessor, Theta Pi Beta. Theta Pi beta started in 1961 and changed to Delta Sigma Pi in 1963. The chapter disbanded around 1973. Records obtained from Robert Kriegbaum, faculty advisor.

(4) Mathematics Club -- Materials from and about the Mathematics Club. Includes the club's Annual Bulletin (vols. 1-4), 1946-50.

Roll call for Promoters' Meeting located at rear. d) Volume with minutes of meetings of Promoters for 1908-09, list of members, dues paid, balance sheets , and attendance sheets.
